Your students will have fun retelling the story “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Frog!” (by Lucille Colandro) with our cute little old lady and garden-themed pictures to put in her belly!
We have included an Old Lady pattern that is already colored for you and also a bw pattern for the children to color for themselves.

Our children just love making these old ladies. We have them color their lady a day or so ahead of when we will do the retelling activity. This is so we can have time to laminate them and cut them out. The children also color the sequencing pieces they will use during the retelling. The children work with a partner to feed the old lady and retell the story together.

We have also included a sequencing worksheet.

This pack has three different journals for you to choose from:
What was your favorite part of the story and why?
What do you think the old lady will swallow next? Why?
Why do you think the old lady swallowed a frog?

We love when our whole day is thematic and centered around the book of the day. We created two math lessons to accompany this book: Numberline Addition and Part-Part-Whole Addition.

Thank you for hanging out with us today. We hope you enjoy these activities as much as our children do! Happy Spring!
