This CVC center features 20 different chimneys with pictures and stockings to spell each word. We have also included recording sheets too!

We split the 20 words into 4 different bags with 5 words each to allow more students to complete the center at the same time.

The children lay the chimneys and stockings on the carpet in random order.

Children look at each picture in the chimney and use their knowledge of consonant and vowel sounds to spell each word. To spell a word, they hang the stockings on the chimney! So much holiday fun!

Above the children were laying the stockings on the chimney. Another idea would be to put Velcro on the the stockings so the stockings stay in place. Both methods work beautifully!

Here is an example of one of the recording sheets.
We also included a differentiated version!

We hope your children love hanging their stockings to practice spelling CVC words too!

Don't forget about the TpT sale this Monday and Tuesday too! Everything in our store is discounted by 20%! Enter SMILE at checkout and TpT will give you an additional 8% off! That is a 28% savings!! Woo hoo!!! Click the image below to be directed to our store. Thank you and have fun shopping!

Polar Bear Party is a pack full of thematic lessons and center materials for your students. We've included a variety of activities for you!

There are writing prompts included for the stories, Dear Polar Bear, Little Polar Bear, and Irving and Muktuk. These are three of our favorite polar bear stories to read to our children!

Children love this literacy center where they read words around the room and record one word for each letter that spells "polar bear" vertically.

We have included a sight word game similar to "Go Fish" called "Gone Fishin" where children will deal cards, read sight words, while trying to make matches. It is great practice reading their high frequency words as they ask their partner if they have "what" or "did," etc.

These adorable polar bears help the children practice counting sets and writing addition equations! We have included exploration, modeling, cooperative group practice, an individual assessment, and a matching center for one or more days of math time fun!

Your students can practice sorting these polar bears by one or more attributes with these card sets. These polar bears have different colors, sizes, cocoa stirs, and are sitting different directions. Lots to look at to practice visual discrimination and sorting by various attributes.

We use this chart to record what children know and want to know before we teach them about polar bears. Then, we revisit the chart at the end of the unit to discover all they have learned! We have included a small version to use with a document camera or overhead plus a larger version to piece together into a poster also.

Thanks for stopping by and hanging out with us today. We hope you love these adorable polar bear activities!
Have a great week!
